Chania Guide

DownTown Suburbs

Eat, Drink & Be Merry

Chania is my second home after Athens. I’ve been visiting it since I was a few months old and my entire family lives there. I’ve spent most of my summers and many springs in Chania and I visit it regularly. Chania is one of the most beautiful cities in Greece and is a popular holiday destination for both Greeks and foreigners. The city is famous for its excellent local cuisine, amazing beaches, strong cultural heritage and value-for-money prices.

Below you can see the independent — I’m not getting any sort of compensation from the businesses I recommend — travel guide I’ve created for Chania. Here I share my favorite places to eat, my top/best bars to have a drink, unique things to see and fun things to do in the city/region, which I call Be Merry, as well as my favorite excursions from Chania. I include only the places that I consider to be the best in their category and I group all recommendations into those that can be reached by foot from downtown Chania (Old Port – Old Town), and those that require transportation.
