Pallas Old Harbour
Pallas is a mainstream and posh three-storey café-bar-restaurant located on the eastern part of Chania’s Old Port, overlooking the sea and the old lighthouse.
Reason to Go
If you feel like wearing an elegant outfit and your high heels, you should head to Pallas. Over the last several years, Pallas has attracted mainstream locals, meeting acquaintances and looking to be seen. During the busy summer months, you get the feeling that you’re on a catwalk and usually there’s a model-looking girl who will welcome you and assist you in finding a table. Personally, I rarely wear high heels, but I enjoy visiting Pallas every now and then when I’m in my mainstream mood and I want to feel the summer vibe. Another valid reason to visit Pallas is its building, a beautiful, renovated mansion that was built in 1830.
The reason, however, Pallas has remained a classic choice for drinks for so many years is its location. Pallas is located on the Old Port’s main street and, from your table, you can enjoy a majestic view of the old lighthouse and the Old Port of Chania. Needless to say, it’s also ideally located if you enjoy people-watching. If it’s not windy, I’d strongly recommend visiting the terrace as it has a magnificent view of the Old Port. Some years ago, you could have a drink at the terrace, but today it’s reserved for guests who want to dine.
The music is mainstream and you can expect to hear the hit of the summer. Despite the sophisticated atmosphere, prices are not that high. Drinks are regularly priced.
