Vazaki

“Vazaki” — which in Greek translates to small vase or jar — is a tiny bar that serves drinks in small jars. As its interior space is small, people primarily mingle outside. Outdoors, instead of a yard or a pedestrian street, there’s a big staircase where people socialize in a kind of amphitheatrical way, which is cool. There’s also a box with cushions and you can get one if you want to sit on the stairs. It’s off the Old Port of Chania, close to the western entrance of the Municipal Market. 

Reason to Go

Vazaki has a cool outdoor space, the staircase. People also visit Vazaki for the music. During the summer months, it’s closed during winter, the bar frequently organises DJ sets. The music leans towards techno and electronic or disco. If you happen to go during a DJ event, it has an upbeat, party atmosphere.
