Open air cinemas in Athens: Cine Paris

Cine Paris is a historic, open-air cinema in the Plaka neighborhood, located on Kidathineon Street, that offers a magnificent view of the Acropolis and Parthenon. It’s a 10-minute walk from both Syntagma and Monastiraki metro stations.

Reason to go

Why would a cinema in Plaka be called Paris? Cine Paris was opened by a Greek hairstylist in the 1920s who had lived and worked in Paris for many years. Thus, he named his cinema after the city he loved. In addition to its long history and convenient location, Cine Paris has an amazing view of the Acropolis and the picturesque houses of Plaka. No matter which movie you watch, the magnificent view will make the experience an unforgettable one.

Tip: As Cine Paris can get quite crowded, it’s best to go relatively early or buy your tickets in advance.
