Open air cinemas in Athens: Cine Thission
Cine Thission is an open-air movie theater located off Acropolis Hill in the Thission neighborhood on a pedestrian street called Apostolou Pavlou.
Reason to go
The main reason to go to Cine Thission is that while watching a movie you’ll also see the illuminated Parthenon on the Acropolis Hill. It has a majestic view that, when combined with the spring/summer breeze (it’s an outdoor cinema, so it’s open only during spring and summer), it’s an unforgettable experience for everyone visiting it. It has been listed as one of the best movie theaters in the world by CNN Go. Tickets cost €6 on Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays and €8 for the rest of the week.
Tip: People don’t go to Cine Thission for the movie but rather the atmosphere and the unforgettable experience!
