Briki

Briki is an all-day café-bar located on Mavili square, an area that is located a bit off the city center. It has existed for many years, at least twenty, during which it has developed a loyal clientele. Its long, successful presence in Athenian nightlife has led it to be considered one of the most classic choices for a night out. A briki is actually a special kind of pot that we use to make Greek/Turkish/Arabic coffee.

Reason to go

If you’re looking for a cozy place to have a drink on a weekday, give Briki a shot. The place has a unique character and is one of the few spots where, on a Monday night, not only will you find a DJ selecting tunes, but also people up for a night out. It is also popular on Saturday nights when, despite its small size and the fact that is a bar you might see some people dancing. I could also mention that, in my opinion, the place has a rather friendly culture. The people who frequent Briki are quite sociable and it is not that rare to strike up a conversation with those sitting next to you.
