Faust is an establishment with a small, theatrical stage upstairs and a bar with a live stage downstairs. They usually organize gigs where a different band (in most cases, a Greek one) plays every week. Different, small productions also take place frequently but, as you can imagine, the plays are in Greek.

Reason to Go

Faust is a great place to listen to some good live music, usually performed by lesser-known Greek bands at a convenient location downtown (not more than 10 minutes from Syntagma Square). The atmosphere and decor are excellent; bizarre with a baroque vibe. The place is formed like a small theater stage with tables below. The service is also very professional. The music might range from ska/reggae to ethnic and jazz. Depending on the band, there is a small entrance fee ranging from €5 to higher prices. The drinks are slightly more expensive than in other bars (about €8 euros instead of the usual €7).
