Yiasemi

Yiasemi is an adorable café-bistro in Plaka where you can drink a coffee, eat a mouthwatering pastry, or some meze (a small portion of food) along with wine or tsipouro/raki (traditional Greek spirits).

Reason to go

The neighborhood of Plaka is one of the most picturesque neighborhoods in Athens. One of the best things you can do while visiting the city is to walk Plaka’s narrow streets; if you do it during a sweet spring/summer night, it can really feel magical. One of the best places you can visit while being in Plaka is Yiasemi.

It has a rustic, retro and romantic atmosphere. The interior with its fairy lights and the exterior with its cushioned steps create a cozy environment that reminds me of a fairytale! If you choose to sit outside on the steps, you may also catch a glimpse of Acropolis. The atmosphere is one of the best you can find out there. Also, the prices are reasonable, especially for Plaka’s standards. However, as it’s very popular, you might have difficulty finding a table.
